I began type set printing in grammar school and recollect loving the smell and texture of the printing ink, as well as the mechanics of the old printing presses. My teacher’s name was Mr. Bliss. As an artist I have worked in many mediums, but am always lured back to the process of printmaking (monotype), the viscosity and vibrant color of oil based relief ink are magnetic.
 
This group of twelve mixed media pieces (many originating with a monotype base) is my personal rendition of the Zodiac, from a feminine perspective. Within each, the colors representative of each astrological sign are present, as well as various symbolic/planetary reference.
